CSI teams in Ukraine are getting ready for Christmas time

Christmas time has always been the best time for reaching out to the people. Most Ukrainians consider themselves to be very religious people. So, they celebrate two most important days of the year – Christmas and Easter. That’s the only time they go to the Orthodox churches. But that is just merely a tradition because everybody does that. Most people even don’t know the true Christmas story. So, we, Christians, should tell them why Jesus really came to this earth.

CSI volunteers in Ukraine decided to use this time to tell people about Jesus, have a Bible lesson on Christmas, sing Christmas songs and invite them to the weekly CSI Bible club. Three months ago Church Starts International was able to buy a printer and a computer for this mission point in the village of Ivankivtsi (population of about 1500 people). We have a family couple that serves the Lord here using CSI strategy. Their names are Tanya and Andrew. They moved from the city because God has called them to serve these people.

Recently God has put a desire in Andrew’s heart to have a special Christmas meeting in that village. And that is despite the fact that his wife is still in the maternity hospital with their little girl that was born a few days ago. The girl is still weak and underweight. So, pray for them! The real blessing is that the head of the village is very open for this Godly family. He is always ready to help them in what they do for the community. So, just yesterday he gave an official permission to use the largest building in the village – their Community Hall. So, today, Andrew printed out the invitations to this meeting on December 24 using the printer CSI provided. He used pink paper to make the invitations eye-catchy to post them on the bulletin boards. Andrew’s sister is a post woman, so she will personally deliver these invitations to every door of this village. Please, pray for these people to come to this meeting and hear out more about Jesus!

Ukrainian team thanks you for your support.
