Strengthening Or Starting

“The picture you see is a stadium in nearby Frisco, Texas. It really has nothing to do with the CSI ministry, except one thing. It is a 21,000 seat capacity stadium, shown here, full. When you add up all the people CSI is ministering to in Guatemala through Schools for Christ, Philippi Prison Ministry, and outreach to missions and churches, the total is about 21,000. We will never see all of our 21,000 gospel beneficiaries in one place on this earth, but this is what it would look like if we could!” (Ted Lindwall)
Just think if a retired IMB missionary could cooperate from his home in the US with such leadership among the nationals, how much more could the nationals do if CSI can meet their ever need on the front lines among their own people in their own heart language as shown among the many teams and many volunteers as illustrated in Europe and Asia?
The Great Commission was given to all churches. But Southern Baptists with our 46,000+ churches and church-type missions can strengthen the foundation, set an example and lead the way. The great challenge before us is to claim the ambition of the apostle Paul and the plan of the prophet Isaiah:
“My ambition has always been to preach the Good News where the name of Christ has never been heard, rather than where a church has already been started by someone else. I have been following the plan spoken of in the Scriptures, where it says,
‘Those who have never been told about him will see,
and those who have never heard of him will understand.’ “
